Azodicarbonamide is easily decomposed into nitrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide by heating. Soluble nitrite and thiocyanate can promote its decomposition. When ammonia, glycerol and urea derivatives are added, the decomposition temperature can be lowered. As an industrial foaming agent, it is commonly used in the industry for the foaming of rubber, as well as the production of yoga mats, etc., and also as a food additive to increase the strength and flexibility of the dough.
